Magnum 247 SC
Description
Magnum 247 SC combines the strengths of two different insecticides to provide broad-spectrum control of insects in various crops
Active substance:
Thiamethoxam 141 g/l + Lambda-cyhalothrin 106 g/l
Preparative form:
Suspension concentrateChemical class:
Neonicotinoids and Pyrethroids-PyrethrinsAdvantages
- Magnum 247 SC has broad spectrum control. It's effective against a wide range of pests, including both sucking insects (like aphids and whiteflies) and chewing insects (like caterpillars and beetles)
- Magnum 247 SC provides great synergy between Thiamethoxam and Lambda-cyhalothrin. Thiamethoxam provides systemic protection, killing insects that feed on the plant, while lambda-cyhalothrin acts on contact, killing insects that come into contact with the spray.
- Fast and Long-lasting Action - Lambda-cyhalothrin provides quick knockdown of insects, while thiamethoxam offers longer-lasting residual control
- Magnum 247 SC also has great rain fastness effect, meaning that they are not easily washed away by rain
Spectrum of action
Magnum 247 SC is effective against a wide range of pests, including aphids, thrips, whiteflies, bollworms, and fruit borers.
Thiamethoxam has a two mode of actions – systemic action and its acting like nerve poison.
Systemic Action: Thiamethoxam is easily absorbed by the plant and moves throughout its tissues, including leaves, stems, and roots.
Nerve Poison: When insects feed on the treated plant, they ingest thiamethoxam. It disrupts their nervous system by binding to specific receptors, interfering with nerve impulse transmission. This leads to paralysis and eventually death.
While Lambda-cyhalothrin: It acts primarily as a contact and stomach poison. Also, when insects come into contact with or ingest lambda-cyhalothrin, it affects their nervous system. It targets sodium channels in nerve cells, causing hyperexcitation of nerve impulses. This overstimulation leads to paralysis and death.
