Ribac 40 SC

Description

Selective systemic post-emergence herbicide, absorbed by foliage and roots for control of broadleaf weeds, sedges and grass weeds

Active substance:

Bispyribac sodium 400 g/l

Preparative form:

Water dispersible granules

Chemical class:

Pyrimidinylbenzoates

Advantages

  • Ribac 40 SC effectively controls a wide range of weeds, including grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds, making it a versatile option for managing diverse weed populations

  • Ribac 40 SC applied after weeds have emerged, allowing for targeted treatment and reducing the need for pre-emergent herbicides

  • Ribac 40 SC is a systemic herbicide, meaning it's absorbed by the plant and translocated throughout its tissues, ensuring effective control of even hard-to-reach parts

  • Ribac 40 SC can be applied at various growth stages of weeds, providing flexibility in weed management strategies.

Spectrum of action

Ribac 40 SC containing Bispyribac-sodium has mode of action involves the inhibition of the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS), which is crucial for the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids in plants. By blocking ALS, bispyribac-sodium disrupts protein synthesis, leading to stunted growth and eventual death of susceptible weeds.

Instructions for use

Generally, Ribac 40 SC is a post-emergence herbicide, meaning it's applied after weeds have sprouted. The ideal time is when weeds are young and actively growing. Higher dosage rates within the range should be used when the weeds are older and more established in the specific growth stage.
