Cigar 25 SL

Description

Pre-emergence herbicides for control of broadleaf weeds

Active substance:

Fomesafen 250 g/l SL

Preparative form:

Aqueous solution

Chemical class:

Diphenyl ethers

Advantages

  • Effective pre-emergence control of troublesome weeds including glyphosate-resistant Palmer amaranth and ALS-resistant pigweed.

  • Fast-acting with excellent residual activity.

  • Flexible application methods and tank mixing options.

  • Dependable weed control

Spectrum of action

Fomesafen, the active ingredient in Cigar 25 SL herbicide, inhibits protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPG oxidase or Protox) leading to the loss of chlorophyll and carotenoids and eventual destruction of cell membranes resulting in plant death (Group 14 mode of action).

Instructions for use

Cigar 25 SL is most effective when used postemergence, working through contact action. Therefore, emerged weeds must have thorough spray coverage for effective control. Best broad-spectrum postemergence control of susceptible broadleaf weeds is obtained when Cigar 25 SL is applied early to actively growing weeds. This usually occurs within 14 to 28 days after planting.
